When I started pondering the idea of starting a blog, I kept coming back to one idea: joy is everywhere – if you’re willing to look for it.

In my experience, life doens’t always come neatly stiched together. In fact, it’s more like a pile of loose threads. Threads may be bright and golden, tangled and hard to handle, or so thin you almost miss them. But, over the past couple of years, I’ve learned that even in the most ordinary or painful seasons, joy still shows up. Sometimes it’s in a laugh shared with my closest friends, or a quiet evening with my book. Other times it’s a stranger’s kindness, or just the peace of sitting still after a long day.

I named this blog Threads of Joy because that’s what i’m trying to follow – those small, often-overlooked moments of goodness that remind me of what matters. Joy isn’t always big or loud; it’s subtle, sometimes fragile, but always deserving of attention.

Family has taught me A LOT about that. As the youngest of four, I grew up surrounded by the beautiful chaos of siblings and love and growth and change. And now, as we’ve welcomed a new little life into our family, I see how joy keeps weaving itself through, even in hard seasons.

I have also come to see peace as part of this. To me, peace and joy are deeply connected – and both require slowing down, paying attention, and choosing to live grounded in what’s real.

This space doesn’t have one single purpose or plan, and it probably never will. It’s a place where I’ll share what I’m learning, what I’m noticing, and what’s bringing me joy – whether that’s something from my graduate program, a quiet moment of reflection, or a story about my loved ones. My hope is that it invites you to slow down, to see the threads of joy in your own life, however small they may feel.

So thank you for being here. For reading. For embarking on this journey with me.

What threads of joy are you noticing today?

With joy & peace,

Sage
